[ Prospect, CT ]

In 1827 the town was incorporated from Cheshire and Waterbury. This was once the industrial section of Waterbuy, and when the cluster of mills here reached peak production around 1800 Waterbury was actually considered its residential suburb. Now, however, Prospect is itself residential and rural. A quarter of its area is owned by three water companies, and a chain of lakes has been created on the surrounding hills.
